Instructions

1.In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder until well combined.
2.Add in the butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
3.Add the beaten egg and mix until a soft dough forms.
4.Divide the dough in two and pat each half into a round disc shape.
5.Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.

11.Roll out the second disc and cut into narrow strips.
12.Arrange the strips in a lattice pattern on top of the apple filling.
13.Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
14.Remove from the oven and allow to cool before slicing.
