250 g raisins , seedless
3 liters vinegar , cider
4 large onions , finely chopped

500 g brown sugar
200 g almonds , flaked
1 1/2 tablespoons salt
3 tablespoons ground ginger
2 tablespoons ground coriander
2 tablespoons mustard seeds
3 teaspoons chili powder
Blatjang is a traditional South African chutney that has been enjoyed for generations. The word 'blatjang' is derived from a Malay word meaning 'mixed pickles' and was brought to South Africa by the Cape Malay community. This chutney is made with a combination of dried apricots, raisins, cider vinegar, onions, garlic, brown sugar, almonds, and spices. Instructions

1.Combine the chopped dried apricots and raisins with the cider vinegar in a large pot and bring to a boil.

3.Add in the chopped onions, crushed garlic, brown sugar, flaked almonds, salt, ground ginger, ground coriander, mustard seeds, and chili powder.
4.Continue to simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, for about 2 hours until the chutney has thickened and the flavors have melded together.
5.Pour the hot chutney into sterilized jars and seal.
6.Allow the chutney to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
