Ingredients

1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1 lb blackberry ( fresh or frozen )
4 tablespoons vodka
1/4 teaspoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice , fresh
1/2 teaspoon rose water
6 blackberries ( for garnish )

Instructions

1.In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar. Cook over medium heat for a few minutes until the sugar dissolves.

3.Let the mixture cool a bit and then transfer to a blender or food processor. Puree the mixture until smooth.
4.Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
5.Stir in vodka, lemon zest, lemon juice, and rose water. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and freeze for 2 hours. Stir with a fork and return to the freezer for another 2 hours.
6.Repeat this process once or twice until the mixture becomes firm and slushy.
7.Serve in bowls or glasses and garnish with fresh blackberries if desired.
