Ingredients

1 lb ground chuck
1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
blue cheese , sliced or crumbled
3 hamburger buns
Dijon mustard ( optional )
sliced tomatoes ( optional )
lettuce ( try Boston lettuce ) ( optional )
garlic ketchup ( optional )
Black and blue burgers are a twist on the classic cheeseburger, using cajun seasoning and blue cheese to add some flavorsome depth to the dish. These burgers are perfect for a summer BBQ or a quick weekday meal. The recipe is versatile, allowing for different toppings such as lettuce, tomato, or garlic ketchup.

Instructions

1.Preheat grill or skillet on medium heat.
2.Mix ground chuck with cajun seasoning. Divide into three equal portions and form patties, making an indentation in the center of each.
3.Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes per side or until desired level of doneness is achieved. Top each patty with sliced or crumbled blue cheese and allow the cheese to melt before removing from grill/skillet.
4.Toast the hamburger buns if desired.
5.Optional: spread Dijon mustard on the bottom half of the bun, add lettuce and a slice of tomato, place cooked patty and blue cheese on top, spread garlic ketchup on the top half of the bun, then close the burger.
