2 teaspoons yeast
1/3 cup water , lukewarm
3/4 cup milk , scalded
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
3 3/4 cups flour

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in water and let stand for 5 minutes.
2.In a large bowl, combine the scalded milk, sugar, salt, egg and oil.

6.Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
7.Punch dough down and roll into 12 equal balls. Place on a greased baking sheet and flatten each ball slightly. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes.
8.Preheat oven to 375°F. With a spoon, make a well in the center of each ball and fill with 2 teaspoons of your favorite jam.
9.Bake at 375°F for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
