Ingredients

1 kg beef tenderloin , cut into 1 inch strips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon ginger paste
2 tablespoons garlic paste
2 teaspoons cumin powder
2 teaspoons coriander powder
2 tablespoons papaya paste
1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground star anise
1/2 teaspoon ground mace
3/4 teaspoon sea salt or 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup yoghurt
2 large onions , sliced thin

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together the beef strips, oil, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, papaya paste, pepper, red chili powder, star anise, mace, and salt. Mix well until the meat is evenly coated.
2.Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight for best results.
3.Preheat the grill to high and skewer the marinated beef strips.
4.Grill kababs for about 8-10 minutes or until cooked through and slightly charred, turning occasionally to cook all sides.
5.Serve hot with sliced onions and yoghurt.
