Ingredients

2 -3 lbs london broil beef
2 cups teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
4 ounces sambal oelek ( Red chili sauce )
4 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
6 large garlic cloves , coarsely chopped
Beef jerky is a perfect snack when you're on the move. It is ideal for hikers, campers and travelers who need portable, protein-rich food that requires minimal preparation. The recipe we are making today is Bigman's Spicy Beef Jerky which is known for its unique flavor and nice spicy taste. This recipe will take roughly 6 hours to marinate and 4 hours to dry in the oven. You will love the meaty texture and explosive flavor of this homemade beef jerky.

Instructions

1.Cut beef into small thin slices. (about 1/8 inch thick) or try to flatten it with a meat mallet.
2.In a large bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, red chili sauce, sesame oil, cayenne pepper and fresh ground black pepper. Mix well.
3.Now add garlic to the mixture and mix it well.
4.Add the beef slices to the marinade and stir it so that the marinade is evenly distributed to all the beef pieces. Let the beef marinate for 6 hours or even overnight.
5.Preheat oven to 175 degrees F.
6.Line a cookie sheet with a wire rack and put beef slices on it. Discard the marinade.
7.Put the cookie sheet into your preheated oven and let it dry completely. (approx. 4 hours)
8.Do not forget turning the beef slices after every 90 minutes.
9.When done, store your jerky in an airtight container for few days.

CONS

Jerky can be high in sodium, and if you consume too much of it, it may not be good for your kidneys or heart.
