Ingredients

3 lbs top round steaks ( cut with grain of meat into approx 1.5 inch strips ) or 3 lbs beef eye round ( cut with grain of meat into approx 1.5 inch strips )
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
1 tablespoon salt
1/3 teaspoon onion powder
1/3 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 teaspoon msg , preservative ( mono sodium glutamate )
1/3 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, MSG, black pepper and cayenne pepper.
2.Stir together until mixed well.
3.Trim any visible fat from beef and cut into 1.5 inch strips, making sure to cut with the grain of the meat.
4.Add beef strips to the marinade mix and make sure each strip is coated well.
5.Cover mixing bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, or overnight.
6.Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius on a baking sheet.
7.Arrange beef strips on the baking sheet, making sure they are not overlapping.
8.Bake the beef strips for approximately 4-5 hours, or until they are fully dehydrated and dry to the touch. Use paper towels to lightly blot any excess grease or oil before serving.
