Named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, this dessert is a popular dish in Australia and New Zealand. The Pavlova has a crispy exterior that gives way to a soft and marshmallowy texture on the inside. It is often topped with whipped cream and fresh fruits, making it a light and refreshing dessert option. Bev's Pavlova recipe is easy to make and can be tailored to fit personal preferences for fruits and toppings. This dessert is perfect for impressing guests at a dinner party or as a sweet treat after a family meal.

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
2.In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric hand mixer until they form soft peaks.
3.Slowly add in the sugar while still beating the egg whites until the mixture becomes shiny and stiff peaks form.
4.Next, add in the cold water, vanilla, cornstarch, and vinegar, and continue to beat the mixture until it is well combined.
5.On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, use a spatula to spread the mixture into a circle, creating an indentation in the center for the filling.
6.Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until the pavlova is firm on the outside but still soft on the inside.
7.Remove from oven and allow it to cool. Once cooled, add sweetened whipped cream and fresh fruits on top as desired and serve.
