Making your Mandarin Pancakes from scratch is very easy and much cheaper than buying the ready-made alternative, and they are sure to impress your friends and family at your next Chinese-themed dinner party. With these simple instructions, you can create your own delicious and authentic Mandarin Pancakes that will transport you straight to the streets of Beijing.

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, add in 2 cups of all-purpose flour. Slowly add in ¾ cup of boiling water into the flour while stirring continuously. Mix until dough forms.
2.Dust a clean surface with flour and knead the dough for about 5-8 minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable.
3.Divide the dough into four equal parts and roll each into a long cylinder shape about 1 inch in diameter.
4.Cut each cylinder into 12 equal pieces and shape the pieces into small balls. Cover the dough balls with a damp cloth to keep them moist.
5.Flatten each ball and brush one side with sesame oil. Place one ball on top of another, oiled sides together, rolling thinly (about 5 cm). Repeat with the rest of the dough balls.
6.Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and cook each wrap for 30 seconds, or until lightly browned. Do not overcook as the pancakes need to remain soft and pliable.
