Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs medium shrimp
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons mustard oil
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 medium onion , finely chopped
1 tablespoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon clove
2 inches cinnamon sticks
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup coconut milk
1 teaspoon fresh coriander leaves , chopped

Bengali Chingri Malai Curry is a popular seafood dish that originated in the Bengal region of India and now enjoyed worldwide. Instructions

1.Clean and devein the shrimps and marinate with 1 tsp of turmeric powder and salt.
2.Heat mustard and vegetable oil in a pan. Add the chopped onions and let them cook until they are translucent.
3.Add mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf and cayenne pepper. Stir for 2 minutes.
4.Add the marinated shrimps and cook for 2-3 minutes.
5.Add coconut milk and simmer the curry for 10-15 minutes until the shrimps are fully cooked.
6.Add the remaining turmeric powder and salt.
7.Let the curry cook for a few more minutes until it thickens.
8.Take it off the heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with rice or naan.
