Belgian Fries, also known as pommes frites, are a popular snack and side dish in Belgium and around the world. They are typically made with thick-cut potatoes that are fried until golden and crispy. While traditionally served with a variety of dipping sauces, like mayonnaise or ketchup, these fries are also delicious on their own with a sprinkle of salt. Whether you're looking for a quick snack or an accompaniment to your meal, Belgian Fries are sure to satisfy your cravings.

Instructions

1.Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350 degrees F.
2.Cut the potatoes into even-sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
3.Pat the potatoes dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
4.Carefully place the potatoes into the hot oil, frying in small batches, until golden brown and crispy, about 4-6 minutes.
5.Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
6.Season the fries with salt, to taste, and serve warm.

PROS

Belgian Fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making them the perfect snack or side dish.

They are easy to prepare and can be seasoned in a variety of ways to suit your taste.

CONS

These fries are high in calories due to the frying process, and can also be high in sodium if too much salt is added.

They should be enjoyed in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

Potatoes are a good source of vitamin C, potassium, and fiber.
While frying can reduce some of these nutrients, potatoes are still a healthier option than processed snacks like chips or crackers.
