Ingredients

1 whole chicken
1 package dry mesquite marinade
1 can beer

Instructions

1.Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
2.Take the whole chicken and remove the neck and giblets. Rinse the chicken inside and out and pat dry.
3.Season the chicken inside and out with the dry mesquite marinade.
4.Open the can of beer and take a couple of swigs to drink or pour out to have room for the marinade.
5.Place the chicken upright onto the beer can by inserting the can into the chicken's body cavity.
6.Place the beer can at the bottom of the chicken, with the chicken legs on the ground, to form a tripod.
7.Place the chicken and beer can on the preheated grill, on indirect heat and cover with the lid.
8.Cook the chicken with the lid closed for at least 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F for the thigh meat and 170°F for the breast meat.
9.Once the chicken is cooked, removed from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes.
10.Carefully remove the beer can by holding the chicken with tongs.
11.Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Beer Bottom Chicken - Beer Can!
