Ingredients

2 large potatoes , peeled
1 cup chickpeas or 1 cup green peas , drained
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
1 bay leaf , crushed
2 large onions , finely chopped
1 lb ground beef
4 cloves garlic , crushed
1 tablespoon gingerroot , minced
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
2 tablespoons cilantro , chopped
1 tablespoon green chili pepper , finely chopped
1 package wonton wrappers
1 quart oil ( for deep frying , baking is optional )

Instructions

7.Allow the mixture to cool, then place a small amount of the filling into each wonton wrapper. Fold the wrappers to form a samosa shape.
8.Fry the samosas in hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy. Alternatively, you can bake them in the oven at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
9.Serve the beef wonton samosas with your favorite dipping sauce.
