Ingredients

1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup red wine ( I use Madeira )
1 tablespoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon lawry seasoned pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
10 ounces portabella mushrooms , thinly sliced
1 tablespoon butter
2 lbs beef tenderloin steaks , cut 1 inch thick
1/2 medium onion , sliced
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.Combine chicken broth, red wine, thyme, seasoned pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl and set aside.
3.In an oven-safe skillet, sauté mushrooms in butter until tender. Remove and set aside.
4.Season beef tenderloins with salt and sear in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes per side.
5.Remove tenderloins and set aside. In the same skillet, add onion and cook until translucent.
6.Add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
7.Pour in wine mixture, stir and bring to a simmer until thickened.
8.Add mushrooms and tenderloins back to the skillet, spoon sauce over steaks, and put in the oven for 10-15 minutes until desired doneness.
9.Let beef tenderloins rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
