Instructions

.Preheat the oven to 400°F.
.In a small saucepan, simmer the ruby port and dry white wine for about 15 minutes, until the liquid is reduced to about 1/2 cup.
.While the port-wine reduction is cooking, season the beef tenderloin steaks with salt and pepper, and dust them lightly with all-purpose flour.
.In a large ovenproof skillet, heat the unsalted butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. When the butter has melted and is foamy, add the steaks to the skillet and cook them for about 4 minutes on each side, until they are browned.
.Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the steaks for about 5-7 minutes, until they are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
.Remove the skillet from the oven and transfer the steaks to a warm plate. Cover the plate with foil and let the steaks rest for about 5 minutes.
.Meanwhile, add the balsamic vinegar to the port-wine reduction and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is slightly thickened.
.To serve, drizzle the port-balsamic sauce over the beef tenderloin steaks and enjoy!
