Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs beef sirloin , thinly sliced
6 tablespoons butter , divided
1 small onion , sliced thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups cremini mushrooms , sliced
8 ounces dried egg noodles
3 tablespoons flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon ketchup
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 tablespoons sherry wine
8 tablespoons sour cream

Instructions

1.Cook egg noodles according to package directions
2.In a large skillet, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat. Add beef slices and cook until browned on both sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
3.In same skillet melt 4 tbsp of butter. Add thinly sliced onions and mushrooms. Saute until veggies are soft and onions are translucent.
4.Add 3 tbsp of flour to the skillet and stir well to combine. Cook for about 1 minute until well combined.
5.Add beef broth, ketchup, paprika, dried basil, and nutmeg to the skillet. Stir well to combine. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and let simmer for 5-7 minutes.
6.Stir in sherry wine and sour cream. Whisk until the sauce is smooth. Add the beef back into the skillet and combine it with the sauce.
7.Place the cooked egg noodles on a large serving platter and pour the beef stroganoff mixture over the top.
8.Serve hot and enjoy!
