Ingredients

4 lbs stew meat
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 3/4 teaspoons salt

2 bottles ale
2 large vidalia onions

4 1/2 tablespoons cold butter ( cut into small pieces )
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

4.Add the coated meat and cook until browned on all sides.

11.Add the buttermilk mixture to the food processor and pulse until just combined.
12.Roll the dough into 1 inch balls.
13.After the stew has baked for 2 1/2 – 3 hours, carefully remove from the oven and drop the dumplings on top of the stew.
14.Return the pot to the oven and continue to bake, uncovered, for an additional 30-40 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through and lightly browned on top.
