Ingredients

1 lb beef ( such as sirloin , ribeye , etc )
1 onion
2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons mirin
1 1/2 tablespoons white wine
1 1/2 tablespoons red wine
1 1/2 tablespoons sake
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 - 1 cup water
cooked rice
pickled ginger ( optional )
shichimi togarashi ( optional )

Instructions

1.Slice the beef into small pieces.
2.Slice the onion into thin slices.

4.Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened.
5.Increase the heat to high and add the beef. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until browned.
6.Add the sauce to the skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
7.Add water to the skillet if the sauce is too thick.
8.Serve over cooked rice and garnish with pickled ginger and shichimi togarashi as desired.
