Ingredients

1 package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons sugar

3 - 3 1/2 cups flour
1 lb ground beef
4 cups shredded cabbage
1 small onion , chopped
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed ( optional )
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

1.Activate yeast in warm water and sugar, leave for 10 minutes.
2.In another bowl, add oil, salt, egg and 1 cup of flour making sure it is well mixed before adding the yeast mixture.
3.Mix for 5 minutes and gradually add remaining flour to form a dough. Set aside to rise.
4.While the dough rises, brown beef and onions together in a pan before adding cabbage, water, salt and pepper.
5.Let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes then cool down.
6.Roll dough and cut into squares. Place the filling in the center of each cut dough square and seal the edges.
7.Bake in oven at 400°F for 25 minutes.
