1/2 lb unsalted butter , melted
1 1/2 cups creme fraiche
2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons rose water
2 tablespoons confectioners ' sugar

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.In a small bowl, mix the golden raisins and light rum. Set aside for at least 1 hour.
3.Peel and core the apples, then cut into thin slices. In a large saucepan, combine the water, lemon juice, sugar, lemon zest, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and add the sliced apples. Cook for 8-10 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
4.Place the phyllo dough on a large, clean work surface. Brush with melted butter.
5.Drain the raisins and add them to the apple mixture. Place the apple mixture lengthwise down the center of the phyllo dough.
6.Fold the edges of the phyllo dough over the filling, then roll the strudel up to create a log. Brush the top of the strudel with melted butter.
7.Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
8.In a medium bowl, whisk the creme fraiche until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, rose water, and confectioners' sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream mixture into the creme fraiche. Serve alongside the strudel.
