Ingredients

12 large sized tomatoes
salt
1 tablespoon kashmiri chili powder
1 inch piece gingerroot ( roughly chopped )
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 tablespoon ginger paste
1/2 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves ( kasuri methi )
2 tablespoons sugar or 2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 cup fresh cream
Makahni gravy is a popular North Indian recipe that originated in the Punjab region. The word 'makhani' means 'with butter', which is a primary ingredient of this recipe. Instructions

1.Boil the tomatoes in water for 10 minutes. Remove and blend them in a mixer
2.Heat butter in a pan and add ginger and garlic paste. Fry for 30 seconds.
3.Add kashmiri chili powder, kasuri methi, and sugar/honey. Fry for another minute.
4.Add the pureed tomatoes and cook for 10-12 minutes until the excess water evaporates.
5.Add garam masala powder in the end and mix well.
6.Add fresh cream and mix well until the gravy is smooth and creamy.
