Ingredients

3 lbs pork ( use shoulder , boneless pork roast or tenderloin )
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon five-spice powder
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce or 3 tablespoons Chinese barbecue sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons dry sherry
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 garlic cloves , finely minced

Instructions

1.In a bowl, combine salt and five-spice powder. Rub the mixture on the pork and let it sit for at least 2 hours or up to overnight.
2.In another bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sherry, honey, and garlic. Stir well.
3.Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a rack on top of it.
4.Brush pork with vegetable oil and place it on the rack. Bake for 25 minutes.
5.Brush the pork generously with the sauce mixture, then turn and brush the other side. Place it back in the oven and bake for another 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145F.
6.Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
