1 teaspoon garlic powder , or to taste
1/4 teaspoon chili powder , or to taste
salt and pepper to taste
1 package extra-firm tofu , cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup minced onion
1 teaspoon soy sauce
3/4 cup barbeque sauce

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2.Mix cornmeal, flour, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper in a bowl.
3.Coat each tofu slice with cornmeal mixture.
4.Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat, cook onion until it's translucent.
5.Add coated tofu slices to the frying pan and cook until golden brown.
6.Add soy sauce and barbeque sauce in frying pan, simmer until the sauce thickens.
7.Transfer the tofu and sauce to a baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.
8.Serve hot.
