1/4 cup low sodium marinara sauce
Baked Mozzarella Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that's perfect for any occasion. These crispy, cheesy bites are a crowd-pleaser and can be whipped up in just a few minutes. Plus, they're baked instead of fried, which makes them a healthier alternative to traditional mozzarella sticks. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce for a delicious snack anytime of day or night.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 425°F. Place panko in a shallow dish.
2.Cut cheese into 6 pieces. Dip each piece in egg substitute, then coat well with panko; press the panko firmly onto the cheese to help it stick. Place the cheese on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Coat the tops of the cheese with cooking spray.
3.Bake cheese for 6 minutes or until lightly browned and heated through. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.

PROS

Baked Mozzarella Bites are an easy and quick appetizer to make.
They are light and crispy on the outside, and gooey and cheesy on the inside.
This dish is perfect for entertaining guests or as a snack for movie nights.

CONS

As with all cheese dishes, Baked Mozzarella Bites can be high in fat and calories.
However, using part-skim mozzarella and egg whites instead of whole eggs can help to reduce the amount of fat and calories in this dish.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

While Baked Mozzarella Bites are not the healthiest snack, they can still provide some nutritional benefits. Mozzarella cheese is a good source of protein, calcium, and vitamin D. Panko breadcrumbs are lower in calories and fat than regular breadcrumbs. And using a low-sugar marinara sauce can help to reduce the amount of added sugars in this dish.
