They’re a delicious blend of crispy, deep-fried fish with a creamy coleslaw and tangy sauce all wrapped up in a soft tortilla.
They’re easy to make in large quantities which makes them perfect for group gatherings.

CONS

Deep frying the fish means this recipe is higher in calories and fat.
Those watching their caloric intake may want to limit their consumption of this dish to a smaller portion size.
The heat from the jalapeno pepper may also be too strong for some people.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

Baja-style fish tacos made with cod, a lean white fish, are an excellent source of protein. Black beans in the slaw add fiber and essential nutrients including zinc, iron, and magnesium which are important for overall health. Coleslaw made with fresh vegetables provides vitamins and minerals. However, since the fish is fried and the sauce has mayonnaise and sour cream, it may not be the healthiest choice for those watching their fat intake.
