Ingredients

1 quart oil ( for frying )
2 avocados , just beginning to ripen
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
salt
white pepper
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 cup breadcrumbs ( Japanese if you can find them )
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium chopped onion
4 garlic cloves , minced
1 small habanero pepper
1 large red bell pepper , seeded & chopped
4 roma tomatoes , seeded & chopped
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
Avocado fries with habanero ketchup is a unique twist on the classic french fry. Instructions

1.Heat oil in a deep pan.
2.Peel and slice the avocados into fry-shaped pieces.
3.In a medium bowl, mix together flour, cumin, chili powder, salt, and white pepper.
4.In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
5.Put the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
6.Dredge the avocado slices in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and lastly the breadcrumbs.
7.Place the coated avocado slices in the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
8.For the habanero ketchup, heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onion, garlic, habanero pepper, bell pepper, and tomatoes until the vegetables are soft.
9.Add bay leaf, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, cider vinegar, and brown sugar to the same pan and boil until the ketchup thickens.
10.Purée the ketchup using a blender or food processor.
11.Serve the avocado fries hot with habanero ketchup dip on the side.
