Ingredients

8 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon powder ( I use 1 small package )
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice ( for a strong lemon flavor increase to 1/2 cup lemon juice , use fresh only )
1 small onion , finely chopped
1 stalk celery , finely diced
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 cup butter ( very soft )
1/4 cup flour
7 egg yolks
salt ( to taste )
2 -3 cups cooked cubed chicken
cooked white rice

Instructions

1.In a large pot, bring the chicken broth, chicken bouillon powder, garlic powder, lemon juice, onion, celery and black pepper to a boil.
2.Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the soup simmer for 10 minutes.
3.In a separate bowl, mix the butter and flour until smooth.
4.Gradually add 2 cups of the hot soup to the bowl, whisking until smooth.
5.Beat the egg yolks in a medium bowl and slowly add the remaining hot soup to the bowl, whisking constantly.
6.Gradually add the egg mixture to the soup pot, whisking constantly.
7.Add the cooked chicken to the pot and let it cook for 5 more minutes until heated through.
8.Finally, season with salt to taste.
9.Serve hot with cooked white rice and a slice of lemon.
