Australian beer-barbecued wings are a crowd-pleaser when it comes to appetizers. The addition of Australian beer to the marinade gives it a unique flavor profile that sets it apart from other chicken wings recipes. These wings are marinated overnight for maximum absorption and char-grilled to perfection, making them crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The tangy and smoky flavor of the wings is elevated by the sweet and sour ketchup sauce, making it an absolute delight to enjoy. If you're planning for a BBQ party or gathering, this recipe will not disappoint you.

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, dry mustard, and black pepper. Rub the mixture onto the chicken wings and place them in a large resealable plastic bag.
2.In another bowl, whisk together the peanut oil, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Australian beer, salt, and black pepper. Pour the marinade into the plastic bag with the chicken wings. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
3.Preheat the grill for medium heat. In a saucepan over medium heat, cook the onion, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in 2 tablespoons of peanut oil until the onion is translucent. Stir in ketchup, Australian beer, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and red wine vinegar. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside.
4.Lightly oil the grill grate. Remove chicken wings from the marinade and discard excess marinade. Grill the wings for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally.
5.Brush the wings with the ketchup sauce during the last 10 minutes of grilling. Serve hot and enjoy!
