2 1/2 - 3 cups apples , peeled , cored , chopped
1 cup sugar
1 egg , beaten
1/2 cup unsalted butter , melted
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon ( or 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon vanilla )
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup nuts , chopped ( optional )

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2.Grease a 9x9 inches baking dish.
3.In a large bowl, mix the apples, sugar, egg and butter until well combined.
4.In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
5.Slowly pour the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients while mixing.
6.Fold in the raisins and nuts.
7.Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for around 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
