Ashley's Chicken Katsu with Tonkatsu Sauce is a traditional Japanese dish that consists of breaded and deep-fried chicken served with a sweet and savory sauce. Although Ashley's version of this dish is not entirely authentic, it is still a delicious and simple meal to make at home. The dish is a crowd-pleaser and can be served as a standalone meal, or as part of a broad Japanese-themed menu. It is easy to customize and adjust the spiciness level according to your preferences.

Instructions

1.To make the tonkatsu sauce, combine the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix them together until well blended and set aside.
2.Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
3.Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip it into the beaten egg and coat it with panko bread crumbs. Shake to remove any excess crumbs.
4.When the oil is hot, gently place the chicken into the frying pan. Fry each chicken breast until golden brown for about 4-5 minutes. Turn the chicken and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken is 165°F.
5.Transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil.
6.Slice the chicken into strips, garnish with sliced green onion and serve with the tonkatsu sauce.
