Ingredients

1/3 cup flour

2 1/2 lbs lean stewing beef , cut into 1 inch cubes

1 can condensed beef consomme , undiluted
2 medium onions , halved and sliced
1 cup Burgundy wine or 1 cup beef broth
1 garlic clove , minced
1 teaspoon dill weed
2 jars marinated artichoke hearts , drained and chopped
30 small fresh mushrooms , halved
hot cooked noodles ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and pepper.
2.Dredge the beef in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

4.Sear the beef, in batches if needed, until browned on all sides.
5.In a slow cooker, add the beef, beef consomme, sliced onions, Burgundy wine or beef broth, minced garlic, and dill weed.
6.Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the beef is tender and the flavors have melded together.
7.Stir in the chopped artichoke hearts and mushrooms and continue to cook for an additional 30 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender.
8.Serve hot with noodles, if desired.
