2 cans artichoke hearts , drained , rinsed , and quartered
1 can garbanzo beans , drained and rinsed
2 cans reduced-sodium chicken broth or ( 15 ounce ) cans vegetable broth
1 tablespoon fresh sage , chopped
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
salt , to taste
black pepper , to taste
