1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375F
2.Peel, core and slice apples into thick slices and mix with sugar, water, cinnamon, and lemon zest. Set aside
3.Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into a circle, about 12 inches in diameter
4.Spread marmalade onto the center of the pastry
5.Arrange the apples in a circular pattern on top of the marmalade
6.Fold the edges of the pastry up and over the filling, crimping as you go to make pleats
7.Brush the pastry with milk
8.Place the pastry on a baking sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp
