Ingredients

1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a traditional Scottish dessert consisting of a sweet and flaky puff pastry tart filled with spiced apples. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2.Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
3.In a saucepan, combine the sugar, water, ground cinnamon, and lemon zest. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
4.Add the apples to the saucepan and toss to coat. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the apples are soft.
5.Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into a circle.
6.Spread the marmalade on top of the puff pastry, leaving a 1 inch border around the edge.
7.Spoon the apple mixture on top of the marmalade.
8.Brush the edge of the pastry with milk.
9.Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
