Ingredients

1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a classic Scottish dessert dating back to the 1800s. This simple yet decadent dessert has been a favorite amongst Scots for generations and is enjoyed around the world. Made with delicious granny smith apples, sweet marmalade, and flaky puff pastry, Apple Flory is a treat for the senses. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F.
2.Peel and core the apples, and then cut them into thin slices.
3.In a large mixing bowl, mix together the sugar, water, cinnamon and lemon zest.
4.Add the apple slices and toss until well coated.
5.Roll out the puff pastry into a large rectangle, approximately 8mm thick, and transfer it to a baking sheet.
6.Score a 2cm border around the edge of the pastry.
7.Spread the marmalade over the pastry within the border.
8.Arrange the apple slices in a neat layer on top of the marmalade.
9.Brush the edges of the pastry with milk.
10.Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Serve warm.
