1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a classic Scottish dessert that is perfect for a cozy night in or as a sweet treat after a meal. The combination of sweet and tangy granny smith apples, cinnamon, and marmalade makes for a tasty and indulgent filling that is encased in a flaky puff pastry. This dessert is great with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream on top and is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth cravings.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced).
2.Peel and thinly slice the apples and place them in a saucepan with sugar, water, cinnamon, and lemon zest. Cook over low heat for about 15-20 minutes until the apples are soft and caramelized.
3.Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into a circle.
4.Place the pastry in a tart tin and prick the base all over with a fork. Spread marmalade over the pastry base.
5.Add the apple filling on top of the marmalade and brush the edges of the pastry with milk.
6.Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
