Ingredients

1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a traditional Scottish dessert that features sweet and tangy apples baked into a flaky puff pastry crust. This dish is perfect for a cozy winter evening or as a sweet treat year-round. The combination of tart apples and sweet marmalade make for a delicious and indulgent dessert. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.
2.Peel the apples and cut them into small chunks.
3.Put the chopped apples in a pan with the sugar, water, cinnamon and lemon zest. Heat gently and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes or until the apples are soft and a thick sauce is formed.
4.Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of about 2-3 mm.
5.Cut the pastry into a circle big enough to fit into a 23cm tart tin.
6.Press the pastry into the tart tin.
7.Spread the marmalade over the pastry base.
8.Spoon the apple mixture into the tart.
9.Brush the edges of the pastry with milk.
10.Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden and crisp. Serve hot or cold.
