Ingredients

1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a traditional Scottish dessert that has been enjoyed for centuries. It is made with puff pastry filled with sweet and tart granny smith apples, making it the perfect balance of flavors. This dish is easy to make and can be served as a dessert or a snack. Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2.Peel and core the apples and slice them into thin wedges.
3.Mix sugar, cinnamon, water and lemon zest in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
4.Add the apple slices and cook until tender, about 10-15 minutes on low heat. Stir occasionally.
5.Remove from heat and let it cool down.
6.Roll out the puff pastry sheet to 1/4 inch thickness.
7.Cut into a 10 inch circle and transfer to a baking sheet.
8.Spread the apple mixture on the pastry and fold up the edges, leaving the center uncovered.
9.Heat marmalade in a small saucepan and brush it over the apple mixture and the edges of the crust.
10.Brush the milk over the edges of the pastry.
11.Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
12.Cool before serving.
