1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a traditional Scottish dessert that originated as a humble pie made with apples and a simple crust. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 405°F (207°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.Peel and slice the apples into small pieces.
3.In a saucepan, mix the apples, sugar, water, cinnamon and lemon zest and cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes until apples are tender.
4.Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangular shape roughly 16 x 10 inches.
5.Spread marmalade on the pastry then add the apple mixture to half the pastry, leaving a border around the edge.
6.Fold the pastry over the apples and press the edges to seal.
7.Use a sharp knife to cut several slits into the top of the pastry to allow steam to escape and brush with the milk.
8.Put the Apple Flory onto the baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed.
9.When done, remove from the oven, cool and enjoy!
