Ingredients

1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a traditional Scottish dessert that is commonly enjoyed during holidays and special occasions. This dish is made with delicate puff pastry, a sweet and tangy apple filling, and a hint of cinnamon. The pastry is crispy on the outside, while the filling is soft and gooey on the inside. It's the perfect balance of flavors and textures that will satisfy any dessert craving.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.
2.Peel, core and slice the apples into thin slices.
3.In a saucepan, combine the sliced apples, sugar, water, cinnamon and lemon zest. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and the liquid has thickened, for about 20-25 minutes.
4.Transfer the apple filling to a bowl and let it cool for a few minutes.
5.Roll out the puff pastry until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
6.Spread the marmalade over the pastry and then add the apple filling on top, leaving a border around the edges.
7.Brush the edges with milk and fold them over to seal the tart.
8.Brush the top of the pastry with milk.
9.Bake for 35-40 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
10.Serve hot or cold.
