Ingredients

1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 cups tart apples , chopped and peeled
1/4 cup unsweetened apple juice
1 package refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 package cream cheese , softened
2 tablespoons confectioners ' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup confectioners ' sugar
2 teaspoons 2 % low-fat milk

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2.In a large bowl, mix sugar, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg.
3.Add apples and apple juice to the bowl and toss to evenly coat.
4.Unroll crescent rolls and separate into triangles.
5.On a baking sheet, arrange crescent dough triangles in a ring with the pointed ends facing out and overlapping.
6.Spoon the apple mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
7.Fold the pointed tips of the triangles over the filling and tuck them under the wide ends to secure.
8.Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
9.While the pies are baking, mix cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of confectioners' sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
10.In another small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup of confectioners' sugar and milk until the icing is smooth.
11.Drizzle the icing mixture over the top of the pies after they have cooled for 5 minutes.
