Ingredients

2 1/2 lbs halibut fillets , boneless ( or cod )
1/2 lb medium raw shrimp , peeled , deveined and tails removed
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 medium onions , peeled and chopped
3 garlic cloves , peeled and minced
1 can stewed tomatoes , diced , undrained
1/4 cup fresh cilantro , chopped
1 large jalapeno pepper , stemmed , seeded , and chopped
1 medium red bell pepper , seeded and diced
1 medium green bell pepper , seeded and diced
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon sweet paprika
salt and pepper , to taste
2 cups fish stock ( or water )
Another Brazilian Fish Stew, also known as 'Moqueca de Peixe', is a traditional seafood dish from Brazil that combines fresh fish, shrimp and vegetables in a rich and flavorful broth. This stew originated from the state of Bahia, on the northeastern coast of Brazil, and has since become a beloved dish across the country. Instructions

1.Rinse the fish fillets and pat dry. Cut into 2-inch pieces and set aside.
2.Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add onions and garlic, saute for a minute.
3.Add diced tomatoes, cilantro, jalapenos, paprika, salt and pepper to the pot and saute for another 5 minutes.
4.Add fish stock or water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 10 minutes.
5.Add halibut and bell peppers, and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
6.Add the shrimp and simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and add lime juice, and adjust seasoning to taste.
7.Serve immediately over rice or with some crusty bread on the side.
