Ingredients

2 lbs ground pork
1 dash salt , to taste
1 dash garlic salt , to taste
1 dash garlic , minced , to taste
1 dash soy sauce , to taste
1 large egg , may need a second to get texure right
1 medium carrot , finely shredded
1/2 medium onion , finely diced

Lumpia (or Filipino spring rolls) originated in China and was introduced to the Philippines by Chinese traders. The dish quickly became a staple during Filipino gatherings- especially parties and weddings. Anna's Lumpia uses a combination of flavorful ground pork and fresh vegetables like carrot and onion finely diced that are then wrapped in a crispy wonton wrapper. This dish is versatile and can be served as a snack, appetizer, or main dish.

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, salt, garlic salt, minced garlic, soy sauce, and egg. Mix well.
2.Add in shredded carrot and diced onion. Mix until evenly distributed.
3.Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and place it in the center of a wonton wrapper.
4.Roll the wrapper tightly around the filling, tucking in the sides. Seal the end with water.
5.Preheat oil in a deep pot or wok to 350°F.
6.Fry lumpia in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
7.Use a slotted spoon to remove lumpia from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to cool.
