1 cup rice
4 cups water
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 teaspoon of yellow powdered food coloring
8 cardamoms
1 cup sugar
6 -7 tablespoons oil

Instructions

1.Soak rice in water for 1 hour then boil in 4 cups of water until tender and drain off excess water
2.Fry cardamoms in oil for 2-3 minutes, then add sugar and 1/4 cup of water stir until sugar dissolves
3.Add yellow food coloring, raisins, and almonds to the sugar mixture, cook for 2-3 minutes
4.Add the cooked rice to the sugar mixture, mix, cover with a lid, and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
5.Turn off heat, leave covered to steam for approximately 10 minutes before serving
