Ingredients

2 cups wheat flour ( or 500 gm )
2 boiled potatoes
1 onion , chopped
1 green chili , chopped
1 teaspoon roasted cumin seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
Alu paratha is a popular Indian bread that is stuffed with mashed potatoes mixed with aromatic spices and then cooked on a tawa (griddle) with oil or ghee. It is a very popular food item in North India and is often consumed for breakfast or lunch. The crispy golden exterior followed by the soft and smooth mashed potatoes on the inside makes this stuffed bread an irresistible delicacy. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together wheat flour and salt.
2.Add half the amount of water and mix well. Keep adding water gradually and knead into a soft dough.
3.In another bowl, mash boiled potatoes.
4.Add chopped onions, green chili, roasted cumin seeds, and salt. Mix everything well.
5.Make small balls of the dough and flatten them into small discs.
6.Stuff a tablespoon of potato mixture into the center of the disc.
7.Cover the mixture with the edges of the disc and roll it into a ball again.
8.Flatten the stuffed ball and dust with flour to avoid sticking to the surface.
9.Heat a tawa or pan. Place the paratha on the tawa.
10.Cook and flip until both sides turn golden brown.
11.Apply some oil or ghee on both sides. Cook for a minute until it is crisp.

Alu Paratha is easy and quick to make, and it tastes delicious.

It is a complete meal in itself and very filling.
