Ingredients

4 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion , finely chopped
2 cinnamon sticks , 2-inch long broken into pieces
1/2 inch fresh gingerroot , peeled and chopped
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 lb potato , peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
2 fresh green chilies , whole
1 tablespoon tomato puree
1 teaspoon salt
8 fluid ounces warm water
4 ounces frozen peas
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves ( optional )

Instructions

7.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or chapati.
