Ingredients

250 g potatoes ( peeled and cut into cubes )
3 tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon cumin ( whole )
1/2 teaspoon red chile ( crushed )
salt
20 g green chilies
6 whole red chilies
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
4 tablespoons tamarind pulp
2 tablespoons oil
Aloo ki dal is a popular Indian dish that is made with lentils, potatoes, and aromatic spices. Instructions

1.Boil 2 cups of water in a pot and add the lentils into it. Cook the lentils over medium heat for about 15 minutes uncovered, until they become soft.
2.On a non-stick pan, heat the oil on low-medium heat. Add the whole cumin, red chilies, garlic paste, and ginger paste to it and stir for a few seconds until the paste is cooked.
3.Add the peeled, cubed potatoes and cook for about 5-7 minutes.
4.Now add salt, green chilies, turmeric, and crushed red chilies.
5.Add the cooked lentils to the potatoes.
6.Add the tamarind pulp to the lentils and cook for another 5 minutes.
7.Serve hot with rice or chapati.
