Ingredients

1 cup almonds
1 cup cashews
1 cup semolina ( known as `` suji '' in Hindi )
1 cup gram flour ( known as `` besan '' in Hindi )
2 cups milk
4 cups sugar
2 cups ghee , melted
4 cups water
1 cup coconut , grated
1 teaspoon cardamom powder ( freshly made in mixie )
Almonds-Cashews-Coconut-Sugar-Semolina-Milk Delight is an Indian dessert that is popular among various South Asian countries. This mouth-watering dessert is often made on special occasions such as weddings or festive celebrations. Commonly known as Sheera, this recipe is quite simple to make with a few basic ingredients that are readily available in every household. The dish consists of a base of roasted semolina mixed with ghee and topped with nutty cashews and almonds making it an irresistible sweet treat that everyone will enjoy.

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, add semolina and gram flour, pour melted ghee over it and mix well.
2.In a grinder, blend almonds, cashews and coconut together into a fine paste form.
3.In a deep pot, add water, sugar, and the blended almond-cashew-coconut paste. Boil on a low flame for 5-7 minutes.
4.After a few minutes of boiling, add in the milk and stir well.
5.Gradually pour the semolina mixture to this boiling mixture while stirring continuously. Avoid lumps.
6.Keep stirring it on a low flame to avoid the formation of lumps. Add cardamom powder to this mixture and mix well.
7.Cook until the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pot and turns golden brown. Once done, turn off the flame and pour the mixture into a serving dish. Note: The consistency of this dessert is similar to that of a halva.
8.Once cooled to room temperature, garnish it with almond flakes, cashews, and coconut and serve.
