Almond Streusel Shortbread is a delicious twist on a classic buttery shortbread cookie. This recipe takes the traditional base and adds some brown sugar, wheat germ, and sliced almonds to create a crunchy texture and nutty flavor. The streusel topping gives it an extra pop of sweetness and crunch, making it the perfect snack or dessert. Although it contains a lot of butter and sugar, it also has some health benefits like the protein, fiber, and vitamin E from the almonds and the iron, zinc, and magnesium from the wheat germ. It's easy to make and can be stored for a few days in an airtight container. Just be sure to enjoy in moderation.

4.Pat the dough evenly into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
5.Sprinkle the streusel topping over the dough and press lightly.
6.Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
